During the 2011 "Don't Drop It On Alabam" Spring cleanup, over 358 tons of litter and debris have been reported pickd up during this annual statewide effort. We would like to thank the thousands of volunteers that committed their time, resources and efforts during this 2 week cleanup. It is due to their efforts that 358 tons of litter were removed from Alabama's roads and highways, cities, counties, communities and neighborhoods.
Thanks to Honda Manufacturing of Alabama for once again being the Title Sponsor for this special cleanup effort. With Additional support from ALFA, Vulcan materials, Alabama Farmers Cooperative and ALDOT, we were able to supply tee shirts, 200,000 large trash bags and all supplies for the cleanup.
Thanks to each volunteer and group that participated in the 2011 Spring Cleanup. You are "Making a Difference."
The "Don't Drop It On Alabama" Spring Cleanup is held in April each year and is available to all Alabama cities, counties and communities. All supportive cleanup materials are provided at no cost to all participants and include large trash bags, car type litter-bags, all PALS brochures, Ad Slicks and other materials valuable for a successful cleanup week.
Each year this annual effort saves the Alabama taxpayers millions of dollars through the cleanup efforts of thousands of dedicated volunteers participating in this event.
